Election Monitor launched its 2015 General Elections Update Volume One in November 2014. As part of our contribution towards the enlightenment of stakeholders, we have prepared the December edition of the Updates.
This edition starts by taking a look at the distribution of seats amongst political parties in the National Assembly and then proceeds to identify some of the contenders for senatorial seats in each of the 36 states of the federation and the FCT. The document goes on to show the flagbearers of two political parties for the office of governor in states where governorship elections will hold in 2015 and senatorial seats across the country (this is subject to publicly available information as of the time of publishing). This edition ends by depicting the results of the 2011 House of Representatives (9th April) elections for each state. It must be noted that these flagbearers are based on party primaries. There is a possibility that some of them may end up being substituted by their parties.
