INEC issues certificates to five new political parties

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has issued certificates to five newly registered political parties.

This brings to forty-five, the number of political parties in the country.

They are Advance People Democratic Alliance, Action Democratic Party, All Democratic People’s Party.

Others are New Generation Party of Nigeria and Young Progressive Party.

INEC commissioner in charge of Information and Voter Education, Solomon Soyebi, had said on June 8 that the associations met the requirements for registration, while two others, which had earlier applied for registration, voluntarily withdrew their applications.
