PRESS STATEMENT: RAPIDLY BUILDING A COMPREHENSIVE ULTRA-MODERN RAILWAY NETWORK IN NIGERIA - UPDATED

Election Monitor commends President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s infrastructure. The 100 billion naira to be invested in the rail sector in 2019 is a step in the direction.

During the June 12^th Democracy Day Inaugural Speech, President Buhari committed to urgently modernizing the nation’s rail systems as well as opening the arteries of transportation nationwide.  

In line with this, Election Monitor believes that rail transportation offers a unique opportunity for Nigeria to take advantage of to help spur economic growth as well as making transport much safer and comfortable for all Nigerians. Making rail infrastructure a top priority in this administration is truly commendable.

Election Monitor has prepared a document (which is available below) to make some recommendations to the Federal Government to rapidly develop the rail sector in Nigeria. This is an updated document.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
