PRESS STATEMENT – ELECTION MONITOR CALLS ON THE SUPREME COURT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA TO URGENTLY REVIEW ITS JUDGMENT OF THE 2019 SOKOTO GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 2019 Sokoto State Governorship Election held on 9^th March 2019. On Monday 20^th January 2020, the Supreme Court of Nigeria gave a judgment which affirmed the victory of Alhaji Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal as governor.

Election Monitor believes that based on its own assessment the Supreme Court should urgently review its judgment of the 2019 Sokoto State Governorship Election. The calculations and deductions leading to this position are attached.

Election Monitor felt it necessary to do an audit analysis of the 2019 Sokoto State Governorship Election as a Nigerian organization that is committed to the promotion of good governance.
