PRESS STATEMENT – ELECTION MONITOR CALLS ON THE SUPREME COURT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA TO URGENTLY REVIEW THE COURT OF APPEAL JUDGMENT OF THE 2019 CROSS RIVER GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 2019 Cross River State Governorship Election held on 9^th March 2019. On Friday 8^th November 2019, the Court of Appeal of Nigeria gave a judgment which affirmed the victory of Professor Benedict Ayade as governor.

Election Monitor believes that based on its own assessment the Supreme Court should urgently review the Court of Appeal judgment of the 2019 Cross River State Governorship Election. The reasons leading to this position are attached.

Election Monitor felt it necessary to do an audit analysis of the 2019 Cross River State Governorship Election as a Nigerian organization that is committed to the promotion of good governance.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
