PRESS STATEMENT – ELECTION MONITOR CALLS ON THE SUPREME COURT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA TO URGENTLY REVIEW ITS JUDGMENT OF THE 2018 OSUN  GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 2018 Osun State Governorship Election held on 22^nd September 2018 while the supplementary election held on 27^th September 2018 (the initial election was declared inconclusive). On Friday 5^th July 2019, the Supreme Court of Nigeria gave a judgment which affirmed the victory of Chief Gboyega Oyetola as governor.

Election Monitor believes that based on its own assessment the Supreme Court should urgently review its judgment of the 2018 Osun State Governorship Election. The reasons leading to this position are attached.

Election Monitor felt it necessary to do an audit analysis of the 2018 Osun State Governorship Election as a Nigerian organization that is committed to the promotion of good governance.
