PRESS STATEMENT – ELECTION MONITOR CALLS ON THE SUPREME COURT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA TO URGENTLY REVIEW ITS JUDGMENT OF THE 2019 LAGOS GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 2019 Lagos State Governorship Election held on 9^th March 2019. On Wednesday 18^th December 2019, the Supreme Court of Nigeria gave a judgment which affirmed the victory of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu as governor.

Election Monitor believes that based on its own assessment the Supreme Court should urgently review its judgment of the 2019 Lagos State Governorship Election. The reasons leading to this position are attached.

Election Monitor felt it necessary to do an audit analysis of the 2019 Lagos State Governorship Election as a Nigerian organization that is committed to the promotion of good governance.
